be

is my word for the first challenge of this year by Ali Edwards. I've chosen this word because I just want to be this year, I'd like to just go on, growth will come, development will be there and all will be enjoyed. I've created a layout "celebrating" my word.

Products used; making memories acrylic paint - basic grey chipboard letters (as a template) - heidi swapp chipboard letters - doodlebug cardstock letter stickers - basic grey holy cow rub-on - stabilo pens - writing paper from own collection.

Best advice ever!

Over on this blog; Standing On The Edge.... This is what she said;

So, stop waiting

--until your car or home is paid off
--until you get a new car or home
--until your kids leave the house
--until you go back to school
--until you lose ten pounds
--until you gain ten pounds
--until you finish school
--until you get a divorce
--until you get married
--until you have kids
--until you retire
--until summer
--until spring
--until winter
--until fall
--until you die

There is no better time than RIGHT NOW to be happy.

Happiness is a JOURNEY, not a destination.

Brilliant advice is sometimes needed very much.

Christmas is all around

The build up to christmas is really going strong! We decorated the tree today. It looks lovely, lights, silver garlands and angel hangers.

We also had a factory kind of thing going on while massproducing this years christmascards for friends and family.

Looking forward to this week. Tomorrow I'm having dinner with friends/co-workers. Wednesday we're having a Christmas market at school and also the Christmas dinner. On Thursday we celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, every class does a performance. I'm looking forward to it all, but I'm also very anxiously waiting for my time off.

Lovely saturday

Had a workshop today. Loved it! All Heidi Swapp goodies... Totally enjoyable. Liked the minibook we made very much.

And, I made christmascards, well sorta, for the teachers I work with. Hope they like them...

Making the family christmascards tomorrow after sleeping late and before going to bed knowing there are only four days of working ahead before christmas vacation.

Zuinig

I never knew the English word for "zuinig" was thrifty, until I found the Dutch Dares. As you probably know I like a challenge. That's how the following layot came to be.

The journaling is in dutch, here's the translation;

thrifty

• adjective (thriftier, thriftiest) careful and prudent with money.

— DERIVATIVES thriftily adverb

Say thrifty and I think of my mother, she participates in everything to save money, collects bonuspoints and so on. She always talks together another bonus. I also think about my father, who gets his beer at the supermarket with the biggest discount and stops for gas at the gas station with the lowest price.

I'm not thrifty, after all, you only live once. On my own, I try to get the Dutch economy back on track.

I'm thrifty about my family, sice the car accident that my mother had on fathersday 2005. It became painfully clear to me that you should be the thriftiest about your family. And so I spend quite a lot of my money n nice things for my sister, my brothers and my parents.

Products used;
cardstock and patterened paper - Basic Grey

A very good week

I've had a very good week.

First of all, I had the week of as it is autumn vacation in our region.

I've passed the theoretical part of my drivers licence test. (On the first try! Whoohoo!)

Carved my first pumpkin! And had so much fun doing that.

October so far

The first of october we (my family, and two friends) went to the Efteling. The best amusement parc in the Netherlands. It was very nice weather and we had so much fun! At the end of the day I took a group shot.

Just yesterday I had a workshop at Piens's scrapbookstore. I enjoyed it very much to finnaly meet Regina. I bumped into her in the Efteling, but having a chance to talk to her and learn from her was so inspiring.

We made a minibook and one layout. I'm hoping to finish them some time soon and will try to post them on my blog.
